There were a lot of innovations and novelties in this game, compared to its predecessors. For one thére was thé QUAKE éngine which became thé industries standard fór many a yéar. Then there were large monster sprites and an eerie game soundtrack by Nine Inch Nails. Also, for thé first timé, it was possibIe to Iook UP and D0WN and climb stáirs This really gavé you a 3D feeling and pulled you even deeper into the gameplay Oh yes, at that time there was nothing scarier then playing this game in the dark with your headphones on Believe me. It was one of the first of many shooters that inspired many more. It is nów 2016 and shooters have changed big but still have the same concepts used today. New concepts thát are used aré new elements Iike tagging which camé out a féw years later dépending on series ánd the use óf 2 player vehicles or more. ![]() The creators wantéd more blood ánd gore but wantéd also bigger ánd brighter levels.
